Energy Cities Alliance is a partnership of some of the world's most dynamic and economically booming cities in the oil and gas and mining resources industries.
The alliance is aimed at supporting meeting planners who are looking to host successful world class conferences. Recognising that these cities are global leaders in trade and investment, the Energy Cities Alliance is about sharing this success with associations and corporations involved with meetings and conventions.
The alliance is to hold its annual general meeting in Abu Dhabi next month. The hosting will see delegates from the Aberdeen Convention Bureau in Scotland, the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre in Canada and Perth Convention Bureau in Australia arrive in the UAE capital for their meeting and a fact-finding tour of their partner destination. “The alliance is aimed at delivering business synergies between leading oil and gas centres and the staging of the AGM in Abu Dhabi gives us the chance to show our partners, first hand, the state-of-the-art infrastructure and dynamics of this city which annually hosts the World Future Energy Summit and ADIPEC – now the world’s largest oil and gas show outside America,” said Gillian Taylor, Business Tourism Manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, an ECA founding partner. ECA members together work to deliver an increased competitive edge for their destinations, particularly in the field of energy-related conferences. A key alliance focus is the exchange of sales leads, known as the Energy Transfer Advantage, which incorporates a support package for conference organisers. Advantage benefits include lobbying and marketing support within the partner destinations to maximise delegate registrations.
